GREEN Anti-Idling Solution for The Transportation Industry
The E-Dock system is a robust, steel-enclosed, powder coated unit which delivers electronically filtered temperate air through a thermally insulated flexible hose into the truck cab via a patent pending, proprietary window control panel called the Window Service Module (WSM). The WSM is inserted into the passenger side window using an articulated arm which makes the WSM virtually weightless, allowing the driver to easily position the WSM in the window. The unit is then secured by raising the window and locking it into position.

The WSM features 120V/15amp power for in-cab appliances, and simple controls for temperature and fan speed. An optional Cat 5 internet connection can be added as well.
In addition to the power supplied to the driver through the WSM, every E-Dock system has a duplex 110V/15 amp power supply located on the unit itself.
And because parking is an ever-changing and dynamic environment at most locations, the E-Dock Portable, sitting on four 8" casters offers more flexibility of the unit to maneuver in those tight spots.
The fact that there are over 75 truck models with over 25 different window sizes and configurations, posed a significant challenge to EnviroDock founders. After three years, they developed a system involving one primary component and five attachments. Each attachment fits several types of windows by adjusting the interlocking pieces. By attaching the insert that applies to his truck model, the driver can position the Window Service Module in the window and seal off the opening completely. The WSM has two 6" duct for supply and return air--separated to provide maximum in cab circulation; two convenience plugs (110V 15amp) for the driver; and three switches to adjust temperature, fan speed and to switch between heat and a/c. EnviroDock's WSM was designed for truck drivers by truck drivers.
S. 1098- EnergySmart Transport Corridors Act of 2009
The EnergySmart Transport Corridors Act of 2009 will help reduce the amount of gasoline and diesel fuel used on U.S. highways by allowing the U.S. Department of Transportation to work with states and the fuel and transportation industries to designate EnergySmart Corridors.
EnergySmart Corridors would standardize anti-idling equipment for trucks to dramatically reduce the amount of fuel used and the level of emissions released by trucks idling in rest stops or other locations along the highways. For example, rather than consume as much as one gallon of fuel per hour of idling, truck stops along the corridor may have electrical hookups to allow truckers to turn off their engines while still having power for refrigeration units and other uses.
The plan would be to create EnergySmart Corridors throughout the country over the next several years. Read the entire proposed bill.
